Fun Run Racing is pleased to announce that your favorite July 4th race is back!
The Annual IMDC Freedom Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Walk/Run will return to the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center on George Mason University's Manassas campus, Saturday, July 4 at 8:30 a.m.
This family-friendly event is the ultimate fun and festive celebration of Independence Day for people who like to get active.
Celebrate the nation's 250th anniversary on the run. Wear your best patriotic-themed gear – stars and stripes, Uncle Sam, Statue of Liberty - you name it! A DJ will play music at the start/finish line throughout the event.
Both the 5K and the 1 Mile Run/Walk are open to all ages. The 1 Mile is a non-timed event geared toward youth and runners of all ages and abilities. We encourage beginners to participate.
Arrive early. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m., and the 1-mile run/walk starts at 9:30 a.m.
Fun Run Racing has partnered with KONA ICE, so race participants will receive a complimentary KONA ICE treat.
A portion of the race proceeds will be donated to Hero’s Bridge, a Northern Virginia-based nonprofit dedicated to serving elderly veterans, age 65 and older.
Special thanks to our friends at Iron Mountain Data Centers for their support of this special community event.
