BRISTOW, VIRGINIA, Youth For Tomorrow (YFT) is proud to announce that it has earned national accreditation from The Joint Commission at Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., for the third straight year.

The Joint Commission (TJC) is the premier independent, US-based non-profit organization that evaluates and accredits more than 22,000 healthcare organizations and programs.

Founded in 1951, it serves as the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare.

Earning its "Gold Seal of Approval" signifies that a facility meets rigorous national quality and patient safety standards.

Youth For Tomorrow provides residential, educational and behavioral health services to children and families. The accreditation assures parents, guardians and referring agencies entrusting children in Youth for Tomorrow's care, explained Youth For Tomorrow CEO Dr. Gary Jones.

"The Joint Commission's accreditation provides those receiving behavioral healthcare services in our programs the confidence to know they are receiving the highest quality of care," said Jones. "Our professional staff of therapists, clinicians, counselors and nurses are to be commended for their professionalism and continuing diligence as this accreditation demonstrates”.

TJC conducts strict, unannounced on-site surveys every 18 to 36 months and is a global driver of quality improvement and patient safety in health care.

Through leading practices, unmatched knowledge and expertise, and rigorous standards, it ensures quality services are provided by organizations across the continuum of care.

The accreditation and certification process for healthcare organizations is a constantly evolving, forward-looking process that fosters continuous engagement, improvement and accountability in healthcare quality and safety.

YFT welcomed a group of on-site evaluators from TJC in July for a thorough three-day evaluation of all operations in line with TJC's stringent standards. The resulting grade showed YFT deserving of the “Gold Seal of Approval” from the Joint Commission.

The Joint Commission provides accreditation and specialized clinical certifications across various healthcare settings such as medical centers, community hospitals, and critical access facilities in addition to mental health services, addiction treatment centers, Outpatient clinics, surgical centers, and telehealth providers.

Achieving The Joint Commission accreditation demonstrates an organization’s commitment to the highest standards of quality and patient safety, backed by the most trusted name in healthcare accreditation.
