Pentagon Locks Down Due to Shooting Incident

UPDATE at 12:15 p.m.: ABC News is reporting that the Pentagon is no longer on lockdown. 

12:10 p.m.: The Pentagon building in Arlington is current on lockdown due to a shooting incident at the Pentagon Transit Center around 11 a.m. today. 

“We are asking the public to please avoid the area,” said the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.

According to various sources, several people have been shot near the Pentagon Metro Bus platform. 

Metro line buses have been affected.

UPDATE: 1:39 p.m.: ABC News is showing a progression of  police vehicles, making its way towards the D.C. medical examiner's office from George Washington Hospital. It likely indicates a law-enforcement officer has passed away.
