Dallas-based La Madeleine is bringing its country French bistro and bakery fare to Gainesville.
According to developer the Peterson Companies, the restaurant will be located in the 7,554 square foot building that once was Mimi's Cafe on Linton Hall Road.
A spokesperson said the new tenants will modify the existing interior and make some minor cosmetic exterior changes.
The fast-casual chain, which was founded in 1983 in Texas, features a number of classic french specialties, including French onion soup, Croque Monsieur sandwiches, spinach pochette, crepes, pastas, salads, Parisien Eggs Benedict and fresh-baked baguettes and breads. The chain is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Mimi’s Cafe closed it's Gainesville location November 2014 citing cost-cutting considerations throughout the chain.
Group Le Duff owns both the Mimi's Cafe and La Madeleine brands.
The restaurant plans to open the Gainesville location this fall.
