Residents will get their own Jersey Mike’s Subs next week as the franchise will open its Gainesville location Aug. 13.

To celebrate their grand opening at 8136 Stonewall Shops Square, franchise owners Pat and Kathy White and manager Jarrod Weaver will also hold a free sub fundraiser from Aug. 13 through 17 to support Team Ribbons for the Cure.

“We’re so excited to open our doors in Gainesville,” said Pat White. “This is such a beautiful and active community and the perfect place to open our fifth Jersey Mike’s location. Every grand opening is a chance for us to give back to the community through a five-day fundraiser. This time around we’re partnering up with Team Ribbons for the Cure to support their participation in Relay for Life.”

The new restaurant is circulating 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Team Ribbons for the Cure. Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.

"There are so many opportunities to become involved in this community, and we can’t wait to open our doors and serve our authentic sub sandwiches," he said.

The Gainesville location is White's fifth Jersey Mike’s location; last year he opened a location in Manassas. He owns additional locations in Fairfax, Culpeper, and Chantilly.

The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

The Whites are exemplary Jersey Mike’s franchise owners who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

Started in 1956, Jersey Mike’s now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. The company has nearly doubled in size in three years, and a 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike’s in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.

According to the company, their growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike’s fans who crave their subs made "Mike’s Way®" (with the freshest vegetables, topped off with “the juice," a blend of red wine vinegar and olive oil). Furthermore, Jersey Mike’s premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with "a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team."
