Cinder Block Thrown Through Bristow Truck Window; 'Medical Air gun' Missing

Posted

policecrusiercloseDunbarton is a gated 55+ community in Bristow, but that did not deter someone from taking “a great big cinder block” and throwing it through the window of a truck parked at a residence on Forman Drive.

Wednesday morning, the Leggetts woke to find smashed the back cab window of their truck. The block was still in the vehicle.

“If you find them, tell them they can get their block back,” Anne Leggett said.

It appears the vandal wanted to steal an air-powered medical injector device, which looks like an air gun, from the truck.

“They probably think they got a gun, but they really didn’t," she said.

That morning, she called the Prince William County Police, who are investigating the matter.

Leggett thinks the perpetrator(s) took off in a vehicle, since it would be too difficult to lug around on foot. She suspects the crime occurred between 8 p.m. and midnight before the storm.

She is surprised someone brought the cinder block to the scene rather than using rocks found around the neighborhood.

“Why would you walk around carrying a big brick?” she asked.
