UPDATE: Police Arrest Manassas Man for Attempted Robbery

Aug. 9, 2022- Prince William Police arrested the suspect sought in an attempted robbery that occurred in the 10200 block of Farragut Court in Manassas on July 31.

According to police, a 27-year-old woman was walking in a nearby courtyard around 8 p.m. when an unknown man approached her, brandished a knife, and demanded her property.  The victim refused to give over her belongings and ran. 

A police K-9 searched for the suspect, but could not locate him. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused as Manuel Gonzalez and obtained warrants for his arrest.

On August 9, the suspect, Manuel Gonzalez, 29, of 8143 Community Drive in Manassas, was taken into custody without incident.

He has been charged with attempted robbery. His court date is pending. Bond is unavailable. 

Attempted Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On July 31 at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the 10200 block of Farragut Court in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery.

The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year-old woman, was walking in a nearby courtyard area, when she was approached by an unknown man, later identified as the accused.

During the encounter, the accused brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s property. The victim refused to give the accused her property and ran from the area.

The accused followed the victim and was confronted by a group of bystanders before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported, and no property was taken.

A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was not located.

While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused as Manuel Gonzalez and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused had been unsuccessful.
