Police Arrest Colgan Student for Weapon Possession on School Grounds

The student allegedly brandished a knife in a classroom

Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds –  The School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Colgan High School, located at 13833 Dumfries Road in Manassas (20112), was notified of a student in possession of a knife, Feb. 15 at 9:15 a.m.

"The investigation revealed a student, identified as the accused, brandished a knife towards other students while in a classroom," said Master Office Renee Carr. "The other students reported the incident to school personnel who notified the SRO.:

School personnel and the SRO located the accused and took possession of the knife without incident.

The SRO determined the knife was not a part of any active threat to other students, faculty, or staff.

Following the investigation, police arrested a 15-year-old male juvenile, was arrested of Woodbridge He charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds

His court date is pending. He is being held at the juvenile detention center
