OmniRide Reinstates Limited Express Commuter Service

After four weeks of a work stoppage, OmniRide has reinstated limited Express Commuter service. As additional manpower becomes available, service on individual Express routes will be reinstated. 

Limited service on Local and Metro Express routes continues.

Great news! Beginning this afternoon OmniRide will reinstate limited Express commuter service between the Pentagon and Horner Road. Regular fares will be in effect. For the AM tomorrow, as of now, both Horner Road stops will be served. The times listed are approximate.

OmniRide will continue to reinstate service incrementally, as manpower permits as promised.

To OmniRide Riders:

We value our riders and understand that the work stoppage is causing a hardship for you and that limited information about negotiations is frustrating. Like you, OmniRide wishes we could share more information; however, because bus operators are hired by our contractor Keolis, OmniRide is not a party to the negotiations. OmniRide’s preliminary budget for FY2024 was authorized for transmission to jurisdictions in February and that preliminary budget included additional monies for Keolis to put on the bargaining table with the operators’ union. That is the extent of any involvement OmniRide has had in negotiations. All driver wages/benefits come directly from the state and localities, or more specifically the taxpayers. Only the negotiating parties – the union and Keolis – can give updates on the progress of negotiations. They did so at the March 2 commission meeting. You can view the meeting here.

As additional manpower becomes available, service on individual routes will be reinstated. But we know that this continues to be a challenging time for our riders. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these challenges together. We understand that you may need to look for alternative travel options as the work stoppage continues. For the remainder of this week, we anticipate operating the same service level as today.

The work stoppage continues, as a result, OmniRide will offer the limited service shown below until further notice. The parties are expected to continue negotiations.

Commuters seeking an alternate commute may consider the Virginia Railway Express (VRE), joining a carpool or vanpool, or slugging. OmniRide Customer Service can assist riders who wish to explore other commute options. You can reach them at 703-730-6664.

Service For the Week of 3/6 - 3/10

OMNIRIDE EXPRESS commuter buses will not operate due to an extreme shortage of bus operators -- including in Stafford, Prince William and Manassas areas.

OMNIRIDE METRO EXPRESS  

• Manassas 60 buses will operate LIMITED SERVICE.  See the timetable below.

• Prince William Metro Express will operate LIMITED SERVICE. See timetable below. 
  • Buses will serve the Potomac Mills Mall stop (near Buy Buy Baby) instead of the OmniRide Transit Center. No service at the OmniRide Transit Center.
  • Route will operate approximately every 70-90 minutes

OMNIRIDE LOCAL

• Dale City Local: the first trip departs Chinn Center at 5:45 AM and will operate approximately every 90 minutes
• Dumfries Local: the first trip departs the Lofts at 5:45 AM and will operate approximately every 90 minutes
• Route 1 Local: The first trip will depart Route 1 and Squire Lane at 5:20 AM and the last trip will depart the Woodbridge VRE at 7:22 PM. Will operate approximately every 90 minutes.
• Woodbridge Local - B Loop:   first trip departs Lake Ridge Commuter Lot at 5:35 AM and will operate approximately every 90 minutes. 
• Woodbridge Local - A Loop:  operating approximately every 90 minutes.
• Manassas 65N Local – regular service all-day
• Manassas-Manassas Park Local 67 – regular service all-day
• Manassas Local 65B WILL NOT OPERATE

The eastern transfer hub will continue to be at Potomac Mills Mall (near Buy Buy Baby) for the eastern local routes. Buses will not go to the Transit Center.

EAST-WEST EXPRESS (96) will operate regular service. 

OMNIRIDE ACCESS paratransit will operate regular service.

OMNIRIDE CONNECT micro transit will operate in regular service.
