Bristow Resident Recovers Stolen Bicycle

bicycleA Bristow resident took matters in her own hands after a juvenile stole a bicycle from her garage.

According to Julia Fraher, at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, a neighbor identified a bicycle that was sitting by her curb, which was just taken from his yard.

However, she said this turned out to be a diversion, so the individual could steal a bicycle from her garage.

“As we walked out to investigate we discovered that it was dumped in our yard, so the thieves could steal one of the bikes out of our garage,” Fraher said. “He came into our garage in the middle of the day when we were home and my car was parked in the driveway.”

In her car, Fraher searched the Kingsbrooke community for the bicycle.

“I found a teenage boy sitting on the stolen bike on the corner of Worthington Drive and Weathersfield Drive,” she said. “He ran away when I confronted him and thankfully we recovered the bike!”

She describes the suspect as dark, tanned skin with brown curly hair, wearing a backpack and had a skateboard. Another witness said he is 6 feet tall with a thin build.
