Factory of Fear: Where nightmares are forged!

Posted

Manassas, VA: ARTfactory will host its inaugural haunted house walkthrough event, ARTfactory’s Factory of Fear on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 from 6-11pm at the ARTfactory.

A haunted house lover's dream, Factory of Fear is right in the heart of Downtown Historic Manassas in the century old building that is now home to the ARTfactory. The building, which many believe is haunted, will be transformed into scare zones for visitors to brave. Each level is connected to a chilling tale designed to haunt and excite visitors as they journey through the experience.

ARTfactory Director of Education, Ahryel Tinker, an avid horror and haunted house fan, is responsible for the inception of Factory of Fear. “There’s nothing like this downtown and our community of spooky season lovers need something Manassas strong to haunt them this season.” Tinker goes on to add, “We listened to the feedback from last year’s sold out Haunted Hallows event, and decided to ramp up the scare factor.”

Events like Factory of Fear would not be possible without the dedication of volunteers who give their time and energy to the ARTfactory. Through volunteer support, a Factory of Fear committee was developed to oversee the details of the event from its inception. Their combined expertise has lent itself to the building, organization, and oversight of this large scale event. ARTfactory also received much support through donations of decor and props to use during the event and is being sponsored by long-time ARTfactory supporter, Mike Garcia Construction who recognized the need for successful community events.

In addition to the walkthrough experience, Jordan Exum, ARTfactory Gallery Director, has curated a coinciding art exhibit of the same name. The Factory of Fear Group Art Exhibit features art by 61 artists and will be visible during the Factory of Fear event. The exhibit, which is also the gallery’s featured exhibit in October, will be on display in the Caton Merchant Art Gallery from October 10- 31, 2024. A coinciding free Artist Reception for the Factory of Fear art exhibit is October 12 from 6-8 PM.

Those looking to extend the fun can opt to stay after the event for a live paranormal investigation. Old Spirits Investigations will be at the ARTfactory for a ticketed investigation of the real ghosts that haunt the historic building on both nights of Factory of Fear from 12-1:30 a.m. The paranormal investigation ticket includes a hot dog, popcorn, and a soda to enjoy.

Tickets for Factory of Fear are available in time blocks to minimize wait times, however, the ARTfactory parking lot will have food vendors on hand for quick bites and snacks, including hot dogs, popcorn, and other refreshments, along with sweets from vendors like Punkin Butts Confectionery.

The haunted experience is a walkthrough event and visitors will be using the stairways. If you or anyone in your party requires an elevator, please call the ARTfactory to arrange for an accessible experience. The team at the Factory of Fear is dedicated to making the haunt memorable and exciting for all visitors.

ARTfactory’s Factory of Fear will be held on Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26, from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. at the ARTfactory, located at 9419 Battle Street, Manassas.

The Paranormal Investigation with Old Spirirts Investigations will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27 from midnight to 1:30 a.m. Tickets may be purchased for the haunt only, Paranormal Investigation only, or a combination of both.
