Western Prince William residents Jocelyn King and Brianne Hout are ecstatic about beginning new phases of their lives as owners of the Gainesville’s new specialty bakery, Nothing Bundt Cakes of Gainesville-Haymarket located on Atlas Walk Way in Virginia Gateway, Gainesville.

Nothing Bundt Cakes Gainesville-Haymarket is the tenth bakery in Virginia for the franchise, but there is just something about the bakery that feels familiar and novel at the same time.

The concept combines the warmth of nostalgia with a fresh, modern approach. The luscious cakes are baked in-house and are made with the finest ingredients, including real eggs, butter and cream cheese, in 40 unique designs and 10 delicious flavors.

Bakeries offer Bundt Cakes in a variety of flavors and sizes such as bite-sized Bundtinis®, miniature Bundtlets and 8- and 10-inch cakes plus decorations and gift options for all occasions.

The bright decor of the shop is cheerful and welcoming. It is somewhere to bring a friend, and if you bring a cake to a friend, they are sure to feel special.

It is no surprise, that even before Nothing Bundt Cakes Gainesville-Haymarket held its Grand Opening on May 21, the bakery was welcomed by the community. Soon, the bakery was winning local accolades. Then Jocelyn and Brianne knew they made the right choice in pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams.

Jocelyn King, “retired” school teacher and mother of four, was ready to write a new chapter of her life centered around her love of baked goods. Nothing Bundt Cakes was the opportunity she had been waiting for to run a small-town trusted bakery.

“I love the small town feel of this bustling area, and I am excited that the stars aligned to bring my love for my Northern Virginia community and cake together,” Jocelyn said.

Brianne, also a mother of four, is a Northern Virginia native. Born at Ft. Belvoir, she grew up in Woodbridge and has since lived all over the country with her husband. She feels grateful to have returned to Prince William County to raise her family in a place with “a strong sense of community.” That she started a business in her home county was simply icing on the cake!

Brianne was drawn to Nothing Bundt Cakes, to which she already had a “special connection.” When she and her husband were struggling to finish their university education and raise two babies, it was a special treat when he presented her with her first cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

“Now, we get to share these delicious cakes and be a part of celebrations with others in our community,” said Jocelyn, “and we could not be happier!”

The two co-business owners and bakers also appreciate working for a women-run enterprise. Dallas-based Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in Las Vegas in 1997 by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz. It has since grown to more than 380 franchised and corporate bakeries in 40+ states in the U.S. and in Canada.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is committed to building a team of bakery owners and employees who embody the joy-filled brand. As a result, the bakery franchise has earned industry accolades including Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 List, Franchise Business Review’s “Top 50 Franchises” and, for five years running, Franchise Times’ “Fast and Serious.”

With Nothing Bundt Cake, the women feel well-supported, which allowed them to hit the ground running.

The bakery received much fanfare upon its opening and continues to surpass exceptions. Jocelyn and Brianne hope to further spread the word to those who have yet to try their cakes. To that end, they invite everyone to stop in and taste for themselves. They believe new customers will be convinced that whether it is a special occasion, Nothing Bundt Cake makes every day a little sweeter!
