Wendy Atkinson, a kindergarten teacher at Cedar Point Elementary School in Bristow,  was voted 3rd Place in Bristow Beat's Teacher of the Year Contest sponsored by Bill DePugh of Century 21 New Millenium.

Fellow teacher Lisa House nominated Atkinson. House notes that Atkinson is the kind of teacher that everyone remembers, making her the perfect person to start children off on their educational careers.

Everyone at Cedar Point loves her, explained House, and her students come back to visit her all the time. She certainly had no trouble getting her community to vote in the contest and give her the kudos she deserves.

“Wendy Atkinson is a kindergarten teacher at Cedar Point ES. She is loved by every student who has ever had her as a teacher. Her students come back every year as they grow to see her, get a hug, and a smile She makes every child's first experience at school positive,” said fellow teacher Lisa House

“Mrs. Atkinson embodies every positive attribute of a teacher. She is patient, kind, communicative, funny and truly loves her students,” said one Cedar Point mother. “Two of my sons have been fortunate enough to have her and I can only pray my last gets to experience her education as well.”
