PRINCE WILLIAM, VA May 21, 2021 - With a new Arts Specialist in place, the Prince William County Arts Council anticipates a bright future for area artists, with the expectation of expanding the scope of the organization beyond what most people think of when they think “arts council.”

Herb Williams, the new Arts Recreation Specialist with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism, has a multidiscipline arts background and looks to include culinary, fashion and many of the applied arts to the sphere of creativity here in Prince William County.   His goal is to allow for a wider spread of interest and to build a stronger membership base.

The Arts Council will begin a new membership drive on July 1st of this year.  “Our aim is to locate and lift every community and their various artists to new heights, through workshops and outreach, and build a stronger cultural experience for all to enjoy.” said Mr. Williams, “Membership with the Arts Council has its privileges, and we intend to shout that from the rooftops.”   For more information on local artists and the Arts Council, visit https://pwcartscouncil.org/

Herb A. Williams has worked professionally in the arts for more than 35 years and brings his expansive resume of performance, art curation, program and events planning, and arts management to the Arts Council of Prince William County.  Contact Herb at hwilliams@pwcgov.org
